Katharine Hayhoe, Chief Scientist for The Nature Conservancy and author of Saving Us: A Climate Scientist’s Case for Hope and Healing in a Divided World (2021), reminds us that it’s neither fear nor facts that move people to take forward action but a shared, hopeful vision of the future. We are programmed to seek rewards.

We build this vision by talking together about our hopes and fears and studies show we are not talking enough. By talking we can help each other connect the dots between our values and climate and envision a future worth working for.
