Tim’s Musings

What a joy it is to share what will be the first of many monthly columns. I hope to use this space to offer a few thoughts about a wide array of topics, ranging from reflections about UUCville and Unitarian Universalism to current events or something interesting I recently read in my much too large collection of books! If you have comments or thoughts about my columns or sermons or anything, please feel free to email me at tim@uucharlottesville.org. I would love to hear from you!

Speaking of hearing from you, let me repeat something I said in a recent sermon. I want to connect with and get to know everyone in this congregation. I want to learn about your journeys and hear your stories. I also want to find out about your hopes and dreams for UUCville. What brought you to this beloved community, what has kept you here, and where would you like the congregation to go in the future?

I recognize that these are challenging times and that meeting in person on Rugby Road can be difficult. In hopes of making it easier to connect and to get to know each other, I will begin hosting a weekly gathering called “Zooming with Tim.” These gatherings will be informal, social, and fun. There won’t be an agenda or a pre-determined topic. They will just be a time to talk, to laugh, and to get to know each other.

The day and time of these gatherings is still to be determined although I expect they will begin some time in September. Please watch the Friday email/newsletter and the website for more details and the zoom link. You don’t need to sign up or rsvp. Just click the link and join the conversation!

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday mornings and over Zoom. And please remember that I’m aways ready to meet or speak with you individually and/or in person if Zoom gatherings are not your cup of tea. Just let me know if you’d like to meet or speak by phone and I’d be happy to set up a time.

With Joy and Gratitude,
Tim
