June 12, 2022 will be Reverend Linda Olson Peeble’s last day with UUCville. Her ministry with us has been pivotal in helping us start a new chapter of healing and growth. Rev. Linda’s vast experience and her wisdom with all things UU has helped us to see UUCville with a new perspective and to understand our strengths and our need for change. We are on a better path as a result of her work with us. She has approached us with love, kindness and clarity and we will be forever grateful for her presence and guidance.
Rev. Linda will be retiring from her long career as a Unitarian Universalist Minister. She has served Unitarian Universalism in many ways and she summarized her commitment to UU saying, “I believe that Unitarian Universalism holds in trust a vision and a philosophy that has the potential of being a central resource to our society in the decades to come. The world needs freedom, reason, and tolerance. The world needs a faith which teaches us to love – not for what we believe, but because we are all worthy parts of the web of existence. The world needs a community of allies, of people who will stand up for the down-trodden, marginalized, and misunderstood.”
We will be assembling a basket of very small gifts and notes of appreciation to be presented to her at the gathering after church on June 12. If you would like to write a note or bring a gift, you can leave them on the front porch of Summit House any day or bring them to church on Sunday and leave them in the main office.
I hope you can come to the gathering!
