Here is a look at some of the issues addressed at the meeting of the Board of Trustees on Wednesday night. As usual, the final meeting minutes will be published after they’ve been reviewed for approval. The archive of minutes can be found on the Board’s page on our website.
The Board voted Wednesday night to establish a task force charged with guiding the congregation through the process of choosing a new name.
The task force members are, Sharon Utz, Sachin Mehta, Debbie Norton, Haley Owens and Bonnie Hansen, with Elizabeth Breeden acting as the Board liaison. The task force will bring the Board their process for proceeding with the congregational conversations, name suggestion collection, and final timeline ahead of a final congregational meeting and vote. It is projected that they will have completed this process and be ready for the vote by the spring. Updates will be found in the church newsletter and on the website.
Director of Administration and Finance, Sean Skally, presented the Board with details related to our non-profit status and the need to file appropriate paperwork when the name of the church is changed.
The Board also heard from Rev. Linda Peebles about plans to respond to the needs of the community in the days following the presidential election. Rev. Linda will be bringing more information to the congregation in the following days.

November and December Board Meeting is a combined meeting on Wednesday, Dec 2nd at 6:30 PM.
Board will be meet via Zoom in November for a two-day retreat to discuss goals and priorities.
Executive Board meeting is on November 19th at 6:15 PM
