“Thank you” doesn’t even begin to cover the enormous gratitude and pride I feel toward everyone who had a hand in making this sale such a success.  From the Dream Team Sorting and Pricing Crew who showed up twice a week assigning little neon sticky dot values to all the inventory to the Lifting Heavy Things and Putting Them in a Truck Squad who tetris-ed giant couches and stately wooden furniture into vehicles of all shapes and sizes to the Cleaning 

This Stuff Up Team who washed and polished, glued and nailed some of the inventory to get it ready to sell to the Get the Word Out Committee who organized the volunteers, made the signs and advertised this sale far and wide on paper, social media and concrete to the Day of the Sale Saviors who descended like angels at sunrise on Saturday morning bringing coffee and bagels, moving everything into place, set up the Bake Sale, organized the check-out, counted the money and just generally made the day run like a well-oiled machine.  

And let’s not forget all the generous donors who brought boxes and bags and bins and sometimes, whole houses worth of items for the church to sell.  You may have thought you were just cleaning out your house but you were lifting up the work of our church with candles and coffee mugs, bookshelves and ski boots, DVDs and flower pots.  

This sale was an amazing operation and all the hard work has resulted in not only a nice chunk of change for our church but new and renewed friendships for all the kind souls in our church community.  I can’t think of a more fun group of people than you all to hang out with!

Here are the numbers we’ve all been waiting for…

initial cash deposit—$4396.83

approximate Venmo sales—$1800

for a current total of $6196.83.

I have another $147.25 for the deposit and there are still some outstanding payments here and there so I’m thinking we will get to about $6500 not including any sales on Sunday.  This sale was budgeted for $4500. I think we can say we have been wildly successful.

Looking forward to putting this sale to bed and fingers crossed we will get just $500 more to hit that $7000 mark.
