The Board of Trustees met this past Wednesday evening on Zoom. There were some technical difficulties with the Zoom link. Our apologies if anyone tried to join and was unable to.
Marlene Jones joined us for public comment regarding the timeliness of a ministerial search. She asked for the board’s consideration of a congregant lead ministerial search committee well before the search.
The basement was flooded this week from the rain. Thanks to Sandy and Burnie who have taken pictures of the clogged drain and other observed issues. Also to Lorie, Bev, Elizabeth and those there to help remove carpets from the basement. Remediation steps are being reviewed to determine that all of the sources of the flooding are identified and addressed.
The Stewardship Steering Committee (SSC) is saying farewell to Jimmy Gorham as the board representative. Jimmy will continue to serve as voted on last month. Renee Brett was appointed for a one-year term as the board representative. Kay Frazier announced a newly created Data Design Team to assist with the “Breeze” review of membership and other data needs. More to come on that new initiative.
Kay discussed the new check signing policy which will be effective immediately to outline the check-writing authority. Achsah reviewed the All-Church Communications policy draft by the communication committee. Some discussion occurred and the draft will be included in the Board Minutes. This has been tabled for now and will be reviewed again for a vote in August or September.
The Board Retreat will occur in September with a focus on the Long Range Strategic Plan.
Board minutes will be posted soon if you would like to read more detailed information.
