All Church Solstice Lantern Walk & Celebration of the Season
Sunday, December 19, 4:30-6PM
Join your family and friends from church for our Solstice Lantern Walk & Celebration of the Season. This festive in-person gathering is for all ages. Please bring cookies to share at a common table. Warm cider will be served. Bring lanterns and lights (flame or battery-operated candles, flashlights, etc.) Those who wish can walk the trail around pond behind the Hilton Garden Inn on 250 East, near the Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital. From 250, turn onto Peter Jefferson Parkway and turn right into the parking lot of the first building, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway and go all the way through the parking lot to the end near the Hilton. There is a paved path between the parking lot and the pond and the welcome table will be in that area.
The paved trail around the pond is about 1/3 mile long. The path is easy to walk or to push a stroller, but it is on a hill above the pond so we will need to stay on the path. Though the pond and trail are not visible from the parking lot, there is a level area where people could sit in chairs (bring your own!) and there is a little terrace with chairs on it close to this area. Revs. Linda and Leia, Patty Wallens and others will be there to guide you to where to begin your walk. All are welcome!
Christmas Eve Zoom Service 7:00PM
Join your church friends and family for our Christmas Eve service full of carols, candlelight, stories, and sharing at 7:00 PM on Christmas Eve. While increases in COVID cases in our area make gathering in-person not possible, we will be together on-line to share the wonder of this special night with one another—complete with an encore presentation of our Interactive Nativity pageant. Please join us! All are warmly welcomed in the Zoom room.
