LeVonne Yountz, a native of Westchester County, New York, has been a resident of Charlottesville since 1988. She is a proud mother of three adult sons, one grandson, and is a faithful member of First Baptist Church.
LeVonne began creating these unique pieces around age 1 initially as a creative outlet. She is known for her vibrant colors and amazing designs. The process by which she approaches her creations is strictly an intuitive one with no preconceived ideas as to what the finished piece might resemble. Her art has been described as a unique, colorful, and visual experience.
LeVonne has been a featured artist on two television shows; Artistic Expressions with Hilda Ward, and New Beginnings with Pastor Liz Emory. She has participated in shared Art Shows at McGuffey Art Center, Keller Williams Realty, and Cafe Cubano. She was also chosen as one of 4 instructors from McGuffey Art Center to teach an abstract design class to the male and female inmates at Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail in Charlottesville, VA.
She has donated much of her work to many worthy causes, including African American Teaching Fellows, and WVPT television. In the future, she looks forward to continuing to expand her artistic horizons, designing her own line of accessories and fabrics.
