Create a Heart Map

Georgia Heard came up with this idea to help students identify that which was most core, most important, and most beloved to them. The idea is to draw a large heart on a piece of paper (or download a heart here), and then to fill that space with that which we have at our centers. She describes the process and shows a few examples here.

This is a wonderful activity to do as a whole family. Set up a space with paper, writing tools, and coloring tools. Put on a favorite playlist to have on in the background. After you explain the activity, you might choose to work quietly on your own, or you might welcome the chatter and crosstalk as you each figure out what and how to represent that which you carry in your hearts.

Display your heart maps somewhere prominent in your home.
