Painting the Sanctuary

As you saw from last week’s Newsletter, the Glenn Short Trust Committee has been hard at work fulfilling the gift stipulations with much needed repairs to our aging structure.  They have replaced the heating/cooling system and are in the midst of trying to remove the old boiler, which was on her last gasp.  The gutters and downspouts are working!  The exterior of the Sanctuary is painted. The hole in the facia is repaired and storm windows are on all of the windows in both the Sanctuary and the Parlor.  The Parlor is painted!  The Aesthetics Committee is readying for the next work:  Painting the Sanctuary.

The Aesthetics Committee has been working from home, of course, and using the paint choices on the Sherwin-Williams website.  We realized that, although the site has the technology to look at the Sanctuary in color choices, the shadows in the photo mess with the true color.  These pictures show the colors in a living room because you can see the true color better.  The picture of the Sanctuary is only to let you imagine different colors.  There are four choices:  Baize Green, Sleepy Blue, Agreeable Gray and Perfect Greige.  We will keep the architectural trim throughout the room, white and the ceiling and altar wall a “Ceiling White.”
