Together We Build Faith

Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations is Unitarian Universalism’s third principle.

We believe that no UU congregation is better at providing faith development opportunities in accordance with our third principle than UUCville! We are grateful to have two gifted ministers as our pillars of faith development.

Do You Know?

  • Our Lead (Developmental) Minister, Tim Temerson, comes to us from Akron and is recognized as a compassionate and visionary leader with a record of achievement in congregational ministry and higher education. It is with deep gratitude that we welcome Rev. Tim to our congregation.
  • That we have a nationally recognized UUA credentialed Faith Development professional with 30 years experience leading our programs?  That’s our Rev. Leia Durland-Jones! Over the years, UUCville’s children and adults have been the fortunate recipients of her extensive talents.
  • Each year a small group of congregants (lay people) volunteer to become a Worship Weaver. They collaboratively support the lead minister and help facilitate Sunday services. This experience deepens their own understanding of the ministry of worship.
  • Since 1947 UUCville’s Faith Development programs have opened the doors of learning UU principles to thousands of enrolled children and adults.

  • Out of our church membership of 314 members, 33 congregational volunteers and Coming-of-Age mentors support and teach 74 participants from 50 families in our Youth’s Faith Development (RE) Program! How encouraging on the 3rd anniversary of the start of Covid!

  • There are innumerable UUCvillers supporting our programs as teachers, helpers, planners, and doers as well as our robust Religious Education Committee without whom our RE programs would not flourish.
  • We have six age-level class groups for children and youth. From Spirit Play to Coming of Age to Senior High Youth and more.

  • Adult programs include book study and discussion groups, the study of world religions, yoga, topical discussions, spiritual practice, women’s friendship, seasonal retreats, labyrinth walking, tai chi, dream journeys, Buddhist meditation, social dancing among others.

  • A Curriculum for Children: Growing Anti-racist UUs was developed by six UUCville women educators under the direction of Rev. Leia.
  • Our (Santa Rosa) labyrinth was built in 2003 by UUCVille folks and was featured in Winter 2005 UUWorld. The Santa Rosa addition made us doubly fortunate to have indoor and outdoor labyrinths.
  • Our Religious Education/Faith Development Assistant, Caroline Heins, has blessed our programs with her enthusiasm, skill and love of teaching for over 10 years.
