Botanical Garden of the Piedmont

Their mission is to welcome all community members and visitors to engage in nature, to inspire learning through the beauty and importance of plants, to advance sustainability, and to promote human and environmental well-being. Their vision is to create and maintain the garden to unite plants native to our region with complimentary architecture and landscape design.

Ivy Creek Natural Area

This 219-acre preserve bordering the South Fork Rivanna Reservoir is a mix of upland woods, pine stands, open fields, streams, and two miles of shoreline. Its rolling hills and diverse habitats make the area an ideal site to learn about the rich natural history characteristic of Central Virginia

Wild VA

Wild Virginia holds the state’s government and regulators accountable for improving habitat connectivity and protecting water quality to counter climate change, prevent species extinction, and defend the health of our communities and ecosystems. Through advocating for environmental protections, convening stakeholder groups to amplify impact, and empowering diverse communities to become active in the decision-making process, we connect people with a safer, more inclusive outdoors.

Rivanna Conservation Alliance

The Rivanna Conservation Alliance (RCA) is a watershed organization created to provide the community with a set of tools and programs specifically designed to help clean and protect the Rivanna River and its tributaries.

Blue Ridge PRISM (Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management)

As Virginia’s first Cooperative Weed Management Area, we have become the statewide leader in invasive plant education, training, and advocacy. In 25 years, Blue Ridge PRISM and our partners will reverse the spread of invasive plants in Virginia.

Generation 180

Generation180 is a national nonprofit organization inspiring and equipping individuals to take action on clean energy. We lead nationwide campaigns and equip clean energy ambassadors across the country.

Sierra Club – Piedmont Group

The Piedmont Group endeavors to fulfill the Sierra Club’s mission “to explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth…” and would a donation to help pay for summer interns to help spread the word about the issues we’re facing like the new power plant in Fluvanna, biosolids (PFAS) being spread on agricultural land, the proposed data center in Louisa County and more.

Citizens Climate Lobby – Charlottesville Chapter

CCL is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on federal climate solutions. Our consistently respectful, nonpartisan approach is designed to create a broad, sustainable base of support for climate action. We train and support volunteers to build relationships with elected officials, the media and their local community, always building on shared values rather than partisan divides.
