New Beginnings Christian Community Food Ministry serves 300 people each week regardless of where they live or their legal status. We don’t require any identification, so we don’t get government funding or surplus food. Our groceries are donated by Food Lion, Walmart, and the Blue Ridge Food Bank. We also deliver food to the elderly and disabled at Midway Manor and Crescent Hall, Westhaven, Fifeville and other homebound people. We are open for four hours four days a week. We have 18 interfaith volunteers, including two Region Ten patients, who feel “needed and important” at our Food Ministry.
