“From the Ground of Being to the Path of Life”
We need to find the ground which holds and supports us, to be able to move forward on the pathways before us. Yom Kippur gives us a chance to find and give forgiveness for our shortcomings in the past so that we can begin again in love. This Sunday worship offers the fourth blessing of the elements as we seek renewal. The earlier Sundays of September gave us the water of our Ingathering, the light (fire) of our Balloon blessing, and the inspiration of breath for life and balance. And on this last Sunday of the month, we ground ourselves on the earth, on the solid foundations of our deepest values, which will give us strength for all the days ahead.
