Henry David Thoreau’s journal from August 28, 1856, considers the development of the turtle and its pace with that of humans. At this time in our societal upheaval, we consider the relevance of two Unitarian Universalist writers, Thoreau from the 19th century and the Rev Kate Lore’s poem, Our Way to the Water, from the 21st century. Thoreau and Lore offer us imagery about turtles and our own collective strivings. Join us for this reflective service in the spirit of renewal.
