Our Annual Congregational Meeting on June 9th

When we come together for our annual meeting, we unite to govern and plan how to continue to bring our mission of “Love in Action” to the world. This gathering is part of our 5th principle, “The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large.”

Our Annual Congregational Meeting on June 9th, 12:30 pm after the service, is an opportunity for our whole community to gather in person and online to contemplate our past year together and to plan for the upcoming year.  We have come so far these last years through building deeper relationships with each other and the larger Charlottesville Community, strengthening our financial well-being, and living our values of love and kindness in all aspects of congregational life. Our actions show that humans can care for each other and the planet. And, as we care, we bring hope to difficult times.

This year we have had so many inspiring conversations throughout our congregation on how we can bring our mission into further action.  We are working hard together to create a Long-Range Plan. We are listening, brainstorming, creating and revising draft plans, listening some more, rewriting, and will finally have a plan for the congregation to launch at this annual meeting. Also on the agenda are annual reports, electing leadership, and voting on the proposed budget for next year.

Everyone is welcome to attend, but as stated in our Bylaws, only members who have formalized their membership one month before a meeting can vote. Our democratic process is part of what gives our faith its identity. Your participation is a way of living our principles.  We hope you will be at this important gathering!
