Rev. Tim Temerson to join Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Charlottesville

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Charlottesville is pleased to announce that Rev. Tim Temerson will be joining the church as Lead Minister on August 1.

Rev. Tim Temerson has been a Unitarian Universalist minister for thirteen years. After graduating from seminary in 2009, Tim served as the minister at Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron, Ohio for 11 years. During Tim’s ministry, the Akron congregation experienced a 15% growth in membership and was very active in social and environmental justice, both in the local community and in the wider Unitarian Universalist movement. The congregation was the first religious community in the state of Ohio to welcome an immigrant family into sanctuary after the 2016 election and received the Bennett Award for excellence in congregational social action from the Unitarian Universalist Association.

In addition to ministry, Tim also serves as an adjunct professor in Religious Studies at Kent State University in Ohio and at Germanna Community College in Fredericksburg.

Tim is excited to be serving the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Charlottesville as their Lead Minister.

About his new ministry, Tim says:

“The UU Congregation of Charlottesville is a progressive religious community with a wonderful tradition of spiritual exploration, inclusivity, and freedom of conscience. I am looking forward to working with the church community as it seeks to become even more welcoming, more diverse, and more committed to being an ally in the struggle for social justice here in Charlottesville and in the wider world.”

Tim lives in Crozet with his wife, Carol, and daughter, Carissa.
