Calling all County Residents!
The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors will be voting on the updated Housing Policy on Wednesday, March 17, at their 6 p.m. meeting. This policy establishes a Housing Trust Fund and creates a Housing Advisory Committee that can help to identify housing priorities to be addressed each year. These are features that IMPACT has been recommending to the Board of Supervisors for four years, and it appears almost certain that they will be passed as part of the Housing Policy, which will guide housing development in the County for the next 5-10 years.
We can show our support for these important features, and the Housing Policy as a whole, by attending the Board of Supervisors meeting! IMPACT will have a zoom site for us to join, and the meeting of the Board of Supervisors will be streamed to that site. Some IMPACT leaders will be giving testimonials in support of the Housing Policy at the meeting.
If you care about increasing the supply of truly affordable housing in Albemarle County, please join us as we celebrate this important moment, and the fruits of our long labors on this community issue, with community members from other IMPACT congregations.
