Hayley Owens and Kelsey Cowger want to invite you to join us for one of four IMPACT house meetings!
IMPACT is the largest interfaith organization in Virginia, and is one of the most important ways that UU Cville pursues justice in the community. If you’d like to learn more about our work, there’s no better way to begin than to join a house meeting. House meetings are where we decide on the issues that IMPACT will focus on in our upcoming year; step one of our process is to gather stories from our congregation about issues that affect their lives, which is why these house meetings are so crucial! All you have to bring is a desire to learn, and a story to share about something that affects your life, your neighbors’ lives or the lives of someone you care about.
We have a menu of four house meeting options to choose from.
We hope this list is respectful of geography and also of people’s individual choices around COVID risk management!
Saturday, October 1: Kelsey’s house meeting in Fluvanna from 1-3 PM (in conjunction with the IMPACT ministry at St. Paul’s Episcopal.) Bunker Playground, Lake Monticello. This will be a fully-outdoors and kid-friendly event with ice cream and watermelon. Rain space at the Pub at Lake Monticello (which has sheltered outdoor space). Please RSVP to Kelsey (kelseyacowger@gmail.com) by 11 AM on Saturday so we can get you on the gate list and give you instructions on how to get in!)
Saturday, October 2: In-church meeting at UU Charlottesville after service, 12:30-2:30 PM (room TBA.) Please bring a sack lunch if you’d like, and we’ll provide some desserts (if the weather’s bad we’ll stay masked indoors.)
Saturday, October 8: Hayley’s meeting in Charlottesville, 2-4 PM at Washington Park. This will also be a fully-outdoor event with a covered pavilion in case of rain: come enjoy the beautiful views and some light snacks!
