GET INVOLVED: Spotlight on Leadership

“It makes me happy to serve the congregation especially in this important time of transition. I would tell other members who are not yet involved: ‘Don’t wait to be asked, let people know you are interested.’”

– David Shutt, Chair Committee on Ministry

This is an important time in our church history and leadership could not be more important. Have you wondered how leadership is structured and how governance works in our congregation? Are you a member and interested in serving?

Join the Nominating Committee for snacks and conversation Sunday February 2nd in Summit House Room 1 immediately following the service for a quick overview of how to get involved in leadership. The Committee will also be tabling in the Social Hall after every Sunday service during the month of February. Don’t wait to be asked… let people know you are interested in giving your time and talent!

“Leadership at TJMC-UU matters to me because I want our beloved community to continue to be a beacon of liberal faith, both for ourselves and for our larger community.  My children are 4th-generation Unitarian, and the existence of this UU congregation was critical to our decision to move to Charlottesville. By fostering leadership here, we all can help ensure that our church thrives, bringing the Unitarian Universalist message to the next generation. I love being a lifelong UU!”
