Signal App Training with UUCville’s Mosaic Team

Event details

  • 9:30 am - 10:30 am

On Sunday, March 8, 9:30 AM in Lower Hall 2, UUCville congregant Larry Moulis will offer hands-on training about using the Signal app. Many use the Signal app for private communications for a variety of reasons, including coordinating a legal protest. Signal is private because it is something called “Host Safe”, meaning the ‘host’ cannot read the communications. This is quite different from a text message (phone company can read everything), Facebook Messenger (encrypted but Facebook can read everything), or email (unencrypted).

Signal is the most technologically private way to communicate, and on March 8th, we will go over how to set it up according to best practices advocated by the activist community. Those best practices also extend to the human factors, because even if the tech were perfect, we can still invite too many people to a chat, or say the wrong thing.
