For those who may not be familiar, Coming of Age is a Unitarian Universalist faith development program for middle and/or high schoolers. The youth spend the year together exploring Unitarian Universalism and their own beliefs and values. As is always the case in our faith, there is no indoctrination, no judgment for what one believes or doesn’t believe. There is only love, there is only listening and learning, and there is only encouragement to be who you are, to ask questions, and to grow. As I said during the ceremony, Coming of Age is Unitarian Universalism at its absolute best and I am so very proud of the youth and grateful to the facilitators, mentors, families, and to Rev. Leia.
