The UUCville Board of Trustees is excited to share that Rev. Leia is going on a well-earned sabbatical between February 25 and August 25, 2024.  Per her letter of agreement with our congregation, Leia earns one month of salaried sabbatical leave for each twelve months of service and is eligible to take up to six months of sabbatical leave every six years. Leia’s previous sabbatical was well over ten years ago,2009-10, so now is the time!

While Rev. Leia is away, our congregation’s faith development program will be well supported both by a newly forming Sabbatical Task Force and a reenergized Children & Youth Faith Development Committee. Plans for additional staff support are also being put in place.  In the coming months, lots of preparation and information will be shared about how many of the things Leia typically does will be handled.  Rev. Leia will return to us refreshed and reenergized for the start of the 2024-2025 church year and beyond.

There will be many opportunities to speak with Rev. Leia and the Sabbatical Task Force, beginning on Sunday October 8 following Community Worship/Children’s Religious Education classes.  Look for Rev. Leia in the social hall on the 8th and/or send her an email if you have any questions in the meantime.
