Celebration of Life for Beverly Ann Ball

On Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 3 PM, there will be a celebration of life for Bev Ball at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Charlottesville. The service will be officiated by Rev. Leia Durland-Jones. Guests are invited to bring finger foods to share for the reception following.

Friends are encouraged to dress in bright colors and/or wear fun hats in honor of Bev and her sense of style, love of colors, and playful spirit.

Bev was a bright light in our congregation and community—a warm, cheerful presence whose smile, kindness, and genuine interest in others made everyone feel welcome. She was known for her graciousness, generosity, and thoughtful spirit, always finding ways to show appreciation and care for those around her. Her love for family, her faith, her passion for the environment, and her beautiful poetry touched many lives.

Even in the face of life’s challenges, Bev remained her lovely self, meeting the world with courage, kindness, curiosity, and grace. She had a gift for making each person she met feel valued, appreciated, and loved. She was truly a joy to be around and will be deeply missed.

The service begins at 3 PM, and we’ll have a reception afterward where we can continue sharing stories and supporting one another. We’re asking folks to bring finger foods to share if they’re able—it’s going to be one of those beautiful community meals that Bev would have absolutely loved.

Beverly Ann Ball passed away on January 23, 2026, at the age of 89. Beverly was born on August 27, 1936.
