September Board Highlights

The Board met on September 20 for our annual retreat and again on September 23 for our regular monthly meeting. We accomplished a lot both times.

At the retreat we reviewed our long range plan and the steps we have taken in the past year to accomplish our goals. The Committee on Ministry, which is helping us keep on track with all of our many ambitions, will be reporting back out to the congregation over the next few months on the progress we have made and the steps we’ll be taking in 2026.

At the regular monthly meeting we:

  • approved a charge for the newly developed Mosaic Squad which is helping our congregation build our response to rising authoritarianism
  • reviewed new information supplied by Greg Townsend about the rising incidence of covid. We are not planning any new requirements for our congregation but you will see sanitizer and masks more readily available, and you will see ministers and congregants wearing masks more frequently
  • learned about our new sound system being installed this week
  • we learned more about the updates and improvements being made to our church directory and management system. The Breeze committee will be tabling in the social hall during October showing off the amazing things that Breeze can do now and encouraging people to register
  • and we covered many other basic items of business. Meeting minutes will be available on the Board’s web page when they are approved later in October
