Take Action with UUCville Mosaic
UUCville and Unitarian Universalism are committed to “Anticipatory Resistance,” meaning we are not going to meekly accept the harm caused by unjust executive orders without pushing back and we are not going to wait or hesitate to make our voices heard and to put love into action. The time for action is now and UUCville is ready. — Rev Tim Temerson

Mosaic
UUCville Mosaic Squad has decided to focus its efforts between now and November on electoral integrity, voter registration and turnout, etc. We will be working closely with UU the Vote, a national campaign led by Side with Love and the Unitarian Universalist Association. Their efforts include writing postcards, volunteering as poll workers or monitors, providing rides to the polls, and much more.
If you are interested in being part of these and other anti-authoritarian efforts, consider joining the Mosaic Squad. Given the enormity of the challenges, we need more hands, more ideas, and even more energy. Feel free to contact Rev Tim if you are interested in working with the Squad, and contact mosaic@uucharlottesville.org if you would like to join the mail list.

Protest Against Health Care Cuts
Friday, June 5, 2026 Free Speech Wall, Downtown Mall
The Trump administration has cut a trillion dollars from healthcare spending and research to enable more tax cuts for billionaires! These cuts will cost 51,000 lives each year. There will be two protest actions against these health care cuts on Friday, June 5, as part of the national Seven Days in June protest:
7:00-8:30pm | Doctors will be at the First Amendment Monument at the Downtown Mall (Charlottesville Free Speech Wall) to answer questions about how these health care cuts are impacting our health.
8:30pm | Candlelight vigil for the 51,000 preventable deaths that will result every year from these funding cuts.
Indivisible All Hands Planning Meeting
Saturday, June 6, 2026 | 1:00 PM–3:00 PM Unitarian Universalist Church (717 Rugby Rd.)
We’ll come together to strategize for the work ahead. With six months until the midterms, this moment matters! November is closer than it seems, and as we prepare for our All Hands meeting, we hope everyone understands that this is indeed an all hands moment.
Events Sponsored by Charlottesville Clergy Collective
EVERY MONDAY, 12:30 pm – 1 pm | Free Speech Wall on the Downtown Mall
Moral Mondays – The Charlottesville Clergy Collective continues to hold vigil each week for those impacted by Policy Violence: direct ICE raids against our neighbors as well as the sometimes quiet violence that occurs due to cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, health care and housing assistance. These Moral Mondays gatherings are a response to Rev. William Barber’s call to embody a nonviolent moral resistance against extremism in government.
Mosaic Action Groups at UUCville
ThankUUs group: There are currently 18 of us who are actively participating in the ThanksUUs group. Together we are thanking individuals and organizations who are actively resisting the current regime.
The Supporting Immigrants group is working with Indivisible’s Signs of Solidarity campaign to ask small business owners to put “We stand with immigrant families” signs in their windows. We also provided Know Your Rights information, including signs to designate areas as “For Employees Only.”
Economic Boycott/Support: there are six of us active in this group. We are seeking information about businesses that deserve to be boycotted due to their support for the authoritarian regime, as well as information for businesses that we need to support.
If you would like to participate in any of these groups, please write to mosaic@uucharlottesville.org.

In line with our long range plan, UUCville is partnering with local organizations to do good work in our community. Sustaining our community is a vital element of resistance.

Shop Your Faith
Spend your money with companies that support our values, not with companies that are working against us. For example, spend your money with local businesses that you know and trust and with with national companies that resist pressure to shut down diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. Kroger and Costco have have defended their DEI programs. Amazon, Target and Walmart have rolled them back.
