Flame Bilyue is known for captivating, sculpted paper artwork and evocative paintings. We invite the community to “Lighting The Darkness”, a new solo exhibit exploring the symbolic power of light, the flaming chalice, and her personal journey of purpose

“The flaming chalice has long captivated me,” says Flame, “for me, it represents a powerful symbol of passion and purpose.” This symbol resonates deeply with the artist’s life story. Born early and quickly, with an intensity her mother likened to “a fireball,” Flame’s name became a guiding force. “It constantly reminds me to ask myself, how can I be of service in this world?” she explains.

Flame’s artistic journey is deeply influenced by her core values. She strives to carry the warmth of human connection and the light of truth within her. This manifests in a strong belief in the inherent goodness of others. Flame finds herself compelled to extend trust and see the light within people, even amidst conflict and difficulty. This introspective approach extends to her creative process. While creating art, Flame contemplates how each piece might inspire her audience. In this series, she explores light in all its aspects – as an accent, a focal point, and a beautiful illuminator in all our lives.
