Charlottesville Unitarian Universalists – 2021-22 Candidates
The Nominating Committee is pleased to present your 2021-22 slate of candidates whom we think will serve the church very well. We will vote on these candidates at a Congregational Meeting on June 6.
PRESIDENT (2YR Term)
Pam McIntire has been a member of our congregation for 28 years. She has been a teacher and advisor in RE classes for all these years. In the last 15 years or so she has focused on youth programming, teaching OWL, Challenge and YRUU. Pam has been on the board for the last 1 1⁄2 years and was the chair of the Task Force to Explore Ordaining Leia and a member of the search committee for an interim minister and currently on the interim team. Pam loves our congregation and believes in the good we do for each other and the world. In the last year, she has been heartened in the way we have come together to support each other in the pandemic. She enjoys being on the board and working together with people who don’t always agree, but work together with respect and appreciation. She would like to be the board president to help continue the work of financial responsibility, transparency, connection and healing that we have done in the last year.
TREASURER (2YR Term)
Kay Frazier has been a member of the church since 2016. She is currently involved in numerous activities such as volunteer coordinator, UUsed Bazaar Co-Chair, Pride Alliance point and more Kay is retired from many years of service in local government. In that capacity, she developed and oversaw budgets and finances for a large department in Charlottesville and then Lynchburg. The budgets included operations, capital plans and projects, grants, giving programs, revenue-generating budgets for facility rentals and recreation programs, and management of historical tax credits. She is honored to be considered for the position of Treasurer as it allows her to use her work experience in the service of our congregation. She has a strong belief that financial stability is a foundational pillar in upholding the mission and values of the congregation.
BOARD AT LARGE (3YR Term)
Jim Gorham A member since 2017, Jim has participated in a variety of UU congregational activities, including teaching in RE, serving on a Soup Kitchen team, member of the Personnel Committee, and is currently serving out the remaining one year of an at-large position on the Board of Trustees. Hayley is interested in serving on the Board to help create the multigenerational spiritual community that we dream of and to understand with more depth how our congregation operates. She values the democratic process and growing closer as an adult to some of her former mentors and adult supporters.

Jude Bias officially joined the church in 2016. I’ve assisted at events including Elder Dinner, Family Pumpkin Carving, Holiday Wreath Making, Cville Pride Festival, and PACEM. I volunteered with our Food Pantry, the Pride Alliance, and social hour kitchen helper. Currently, I serve on the Committee on Ministry (COM), Aesthetics, Gardens & Grounds and the UUsed Bazaar. It’s through our participation, interests, and talents that our community is the vibrant, engaging, and caring space we all love.

Most recently I have been active as a greeter, member of the Covenant Group Steering Committee, Covenant group member, member of the Community Life Council, co-chair of Yard Sale, and a member of the Interim Ministry Team.
